In the late 90’s I went looking for “natural” makeup and I was literally blown away by the cocktail of chemicals in the supposedly natural cosmetics and the more I read, the more concerned I became.  I learnt very quickly that most make-up ranges, even those labelled as natural, really aren’t natural at all, and most contain an array of chemicals and fillers which are simply disguised.

Earthy Essences is a different kind of make up and skin care company. The main idea and concept was to formulate both natural and organic products, that all women could use and love even those with sensitive skin or allergies. Elusyion allows women to maintain the health and glamour of their skin, with natural colour’s and organic ingredients, without with dangerous chemicals.

Elusyion is a complete range that embraces the holistic meaning and concept of pure & natural and is 100% cruelty free and being a vegan myself, contains no animal products or by products.

Like you I love makeup, and I love looking young.  I have always believed that what you put into / onto your body / skin eventually creates who you are and what you look like.

And as I wear and love my own range,  I wouldn’t accept anything less than the most natural looking, natural feeling,  genuinely natural and organic cosmetics that I know are good for my skin and are truly made right here in Western Australia.

To be Organically Certified or not?
Here at  Earthy Essences , we are often asked about organic certification.
Are our products organic? Do we have Organic certification? Why don't we?
After consultation with professionals in the cosmetic/skincare field, we have at the moment decided against going down this path.

Earthy Essences has always been and continues to be committed to using organic certified ingredients wherever possible and our percentage of organic ingredients in excess of what is required by organic bodies. When we promote a product as being Organic you can be certain that certified organic ingredients have been used.

There are many different organizations that offer certification in Australia, all with different requirements and ideals of what constitutes "organic".  As there is no regulating body in this field, they can make up their own rules and make claims of organic when there may in fact be a very small percentage of organic materials in a product.

What does it actually mean to be organic?
Consumers are very savvy these days and they want the facts, they want honesty in the packaging and labelling of products.  As we are aware that there are very few skin care products that can possibly be actually 100% organic, and we don't want to mislead our customers by making an organic claim, if they product isnt organic.

Earthy Essences has always been and continues to be committed to using organic certified ingredients wherever possible and our percentage of organic ingredients in excess of what is required by organic bodies. When we promote a product as being Organic you can be certain that certified organic ingredients have been used.

Minerals and oxides can not be certified as “ organic” due to the inconsistency in the soils in Australia from which the oxides and micas are obtained, the regulating quality can not guarantee the purity required for certification.

Overall a minimum of 95% of any product has to contain certified organic ingredients in order to be certified organic and therefore cosmetics that have been certified organic often don’t provide the coverage or bold colour of traditional cosmetics, and leave customers feeling let down.
